šŸ“– Words of Wisdom and What Iā€™m Reading Right Now

 āœØ Transforming My Anxiety

Five years ago, I struggled with anxiety. Everything I tried to do to get rid of it only provided temporary relief. One day, I stumbled across a technique called tapping that promised to help. All I needed to do was tap specific parts of my body with my fingers while repeating a mantra, which was supposed to help me feel calmer. It seemed too simple to be real, but I tried it.

I began to tap every day in the morning after brushing my teeth and, if needed, right before bed and noticed how I could make my anxious thoughts melt away. As I continued to practice, my overall anxiety level slowly decreased. It taught me firsthand that we can all find ways to feel better with the right tools and techniques.

Write these down and post them where you can see them (or in a note on your phone). Repeat them to yourself every day or whenever you're feeling anxious.

"I acknowledge my anxious thoughts and feelings, but I don't have to let them control me."

"I can manage my anxiety by taking steps to help me feel better."

"I can take a deep breath and feel calm."

"I can accept that I can't always control my anxiety, but I can choose how I respond to it."

"I am in control of my thoughts and can choose to focus on positive outcomes."

Anxiety is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you very far.

What Iā€™m Reading Right Now šŸ“–

Iā€™m a big fan of the modern-day philosopher Yung Pueblo. His new book, Lighter, debuted at #1 on the NYT bestseller list last fall. Itā€™s a great read on self-healing, creating healthy relationships, and understanding yourself.

What is Wisdom & Sol?

I wanted to learn how to manage those feelings as they arose without relying on therapy. When I started looking around online, I realized the information I wanted wasnā€™t there or was scattered all around. When I found valuable tips, I would take notes and follow the influential experts that delivered them. As my kids started getting older, my passion for this deepened. I wanted to share my learnings with them and my broader community: How can we all keep our cool, get past our fears, and calm our anxious thoughts?

Breathwork, nature walks, and movement are helpful but can be superficial. I wanted to find talk tracks, frameworks, and techniques that started inside and then moved outward to transform our lives truly. And I wanted them all in one place because who needs the extra stress of finding them?

So the idea of Sol TV was born. I recruit experts I love who provide the best ideas for self-regulating the various emotions that hit us daily, and now I want to share them with you.
